The 25- to 55- gallon units are suitable for deicing single engine aircraft; the larger 110- to 300-gallon units for deicing multiple aircraft. Since hot (160 F) deicing fluid is the most effective, all deicing carts can be equipped with optional electric immersion heaters. Anti-Icing Operations: Anti-icing operations work well with the 12 volt carts (indoors or out), or with the gasoline engine powered carts adjusted to the lower fluid pressures and flow rates to provide the best spray pattern. Since anti-icing fluids are applied cold, these carts do not need immersion heaters. Smaller capacity carts are appropriate, as anti-icing operations typically use much less fluid than deicing operations. Ice-Off deicing and anti-icing carts are designed specifically for general aviation operators, such as FBO's, corporate operators, air charter operators, cargo haulers and even flight schools. Ice-Off offers two power options on their three-wheeled carts; either a 12-volt electrical system or gasoline engines. Pump pressure is adjustable; up to 76 psi at 2.1 GPM on the electrical system or up to 300 psi and 10 GPM on the 5.00 hp gasoline powered cart. See chart on following page for further details. All carts * are supplied complete, including power source, pump, tank, adjustable pressure valve, pressure gauge, high-pressure hose, pistol-grip handguns with extensions and appropriate nozzle. The P5PS unit is ideal for light deicing and frost removal on small turboprop aircraft. This unit is not recommended for applying anti-icing fluids. Pilots anticipating flying into areas with known icing conditions should consider taking an Ice-Off handheld unit with them. No attempt should ever be made to take off with snow, frost or ice on the wings. *The P5PS does not include a gauge and has a different, lever actuated spray gun P110GPS P55GPS P5PS P35GPS P25GPS
